Hello everyone! It’s been a long time since I made a post so here is my August/September Book Haul. I know it’s long due because it’s already the first half of October but anyways, better late than never right?

I have 7 books to show to you guys which I have accumulated in the months of August and September. Most of them are sent to me by authors in exchange for a review and I am really excited to show them to you.

The first book I received in the month of August was The Crowns of Croswald by D.E. Night. It came with an ARC box which is purely magical. I have already posted my unboxing and full review of this book. You can check them out by clicking the links below:

Book Review: The Crowns of Croswald

Synopsis:

In Croswald, the only thing more powerful than dark magic is one secret…

For sixteen years Ivy Lovely has been hidden behind an enchanted boundary that separates the mundane from the magical. When Ivy crosses the border, her powers awaken. Curiosity leads her crashing through a series of adventures at the Halls of Ivy, a school where students learn to master their magical blood and the power of Croswald’s mysterious gems. When Ivy’s magic––and her life––is threatened by the Dark Queen, she scrambles to unearth her history and save Croswald before the truth is swept away forever.

The second book that I received was Made by the Image of the Goddess by Chantelle Griffin which is book one in The Legacy of Zyanthia Series. I’m really excited to read this one because it has one of my favorite mythical creatures, Dragons.

Synopsis:

Saranon glanced up at the dragons as they flew overhead. The hour of darkness covered them as she watched on. She waited as Pennie examined the stone. It formed part of the shield locking them inside the camp. Shouts rang out on the other side. ‘Is that Galven?’ Pennie asked.

She nodded in reply. A twig broke on the muddy ground. ‘We have company, ‘ she said.

A lone sorcerer. Just one, but that was enough to give them away. Pennie ran for fear of being caught, while Tasha stood gazing out into the distance, ‘One day that will be us.’

Enter an epic tale of sword and sorcery. More than two hundred years ago a powerful sorceress freed her people then vanished. As time passed truth turned into myth and myth became legend. The time has come again. Saranon must claim her rightful place before Zyanthia falls.

I have already read the ARC copy and fell in love with it. So don’t forget to visit my blog on the release date and check out my full review of The House at 758.

Synopsis:

Sixteen year old Krista is still grieving the untimely death of her mother when her father’s new girlfriend moves into their home. He’s already moved on and wants Krista to do the same, but she’s not ready to resume a normal life yet. Distancing herself from those around her, Krista spends all of her time obsessively watching a mysterious house, the house at 758.

When a fellow classmate, Jake, takes a sudden interest in her, Krista feels excited for the first time in two years, but feelings of guilt consume her, and she ends up pushing Jake away. It isn’t until her grandfather makes a surprise visit from Venezuela that Krista is finally able to confront her grief and begin to let things go.

Next is See What Flowers by Shannon Mullen. I am also excited to read this one because it says that it tackles about mental illness. I know it is one of those delicate topics and I am really curious how the author executed mental illness in this book.

Synopsis:

All that remains is a note: “Gone to get pancakes.”

Her 30th birthday party’s over, yet it’s the happiest Emma Watters has ever been. Life couldn’t be more perfect. She’s an emergency room doctor and shares a home in Toronto with the love of her life, Adam Davison. The next morning, Adam is gone.

Emma’s shocked. At first, she decides that Adam’s having an affair and scavenges through photos on Facebook, trying to identify “the other woman.” But as the days pass, Emma seeks out help from the Toronto Police and floods social media with pleas for assistance. Where’s Adam? Has her life become an episode of Breaking Bad? Has she been dating Walter White all along?

Wild, beautiful, and terrifying, See What Flowers is a thrilling depiction of love’s attempts to survive in the face of undiagnosed mental illness. Set in the hectic, cosmopolitan cities of Toronto and Vancouver, as well as against the harsh, rugged landscape of the Canadian Arctic, it’s a raw and compelling journey towards understanding, forgiveness, and, ultimately, escape.

One of my friends on Bookstgram told me that this book is really good and that she enjoyed it. I’m so thrilled to read this book soon.

Synopsis:

“His eyes settled on her…piercing green embers of flame that revealed the ferocity of his pain and passion, yet still shrouded him under veils of ever deepening mystery that made every ounce of her ache to unravel him.”

Tegan Lockwood’s dreams were dead, sacrificed on the noble altar of duty before they ever had a chance to live. Her entire existence was disappearing into the abyss of apathy as she labored her days away keeping her family’s struggling business alive. There would be no emotion, no color, no beauty in her life. That is, until a mysterious visitor begins to draw her out of the darkness of her past towards something that will challenge the boundaries of her world, and unlock the most deeply held secrets of her heart.

Processed with VSCO with a4 presetThe last book I received from an author was Soul Breather by T. Stedman and the first book in the 21st Century Sirens Series.

I was supposed to receive this book a long time ago but unfortunately the first copy didn’t arrived and I think it was lost in transit. But the author was so generous to send me another copy which arrived on my doorstep last month and I am so ready to read it.

Synopsis:

On a night like any other, a quick drink after work changes TIA STORM’S life forever.

A beautiful, street savvy, DJ, she has no idea who she really is. All she knows is that she’s different. So no one is more surprised than her when her passion is ignited in the form of JAY GARDINER – glacier cool, and devastatingly good looking.

But her time is already up. Fate has decided to throw her into the path of the gorgeous and combustible prince DANTE DUBONNETTI. All too late, Tia discovers the pleasure and the curse of the Siren’s Kiss.

Now at the centre of a dangerously alien world of politics, power and prophesy, her life is no longer her own. Tia must fight to keep her identity, her liberty and her love.

But the clock is ticking. Enemies are closing in all around her. Will she chose destiny over love?

Oh hell … She’s a 21st Century Siren … she wants it all!

Processed with VSCO with a4 presetSo the last book in this book haul is My Lady Jane by Cynthia Hand, Brodi Ashton and Jodi Meadows. I have been wanting this book a long time now since I saw it on Booktube and finally, I have a copy.

Synopsis:

The comical, fantastical, romantical, (not) entirely true story of Lady Jane Grey. In My Lady Jane, coauthors Cynthia Hand, Brodi Ashton, and Jodi Meadows have created a one-of-a-kind fantasy in the tradition of The Princess Bride, featuring a reluctant king, an even more reluctant queen, a noble steed, and only a passing resemblance to actual history—because sometimes history needs a little help.

At sixteen, Lady Jane Grey is about to be married off to a stranger and caught up in a conspiracy to rob her cousin, King Edward, of his throne. But those trifling problems aren’t for Jane to worry about. Jane is about to become the Queen of England.

So that’s it for this Book Haul. I hope you all had a great time reading my latest post. Don’t forget to read my book reviews of this books once I posted them.
